Jordan Prosser’s debut novel Big Time was published earlier this year by University of Queensland Press, but it took Jordan ten years of work and a number of surprising turns to reach this milestone.
Big Time was acquired by Aviva Tuffield at UQP after Jordan was awarded the Peter Carey Short Story Award in 2022 for ‘Eleuterio Cabrera’s Beautiful Game’, which happened to be the third chapter in his unfinished manuscript. Jordan and Aviva will be in conversation with Kate Adams, the ASA’s Professional Development and Events Manager, about this exceptional set up and how they tackled the writing, editorial, and publication process together.
