You’ve done the hard work of completing a draft of your manuscript, but the hard work is far from over. To give your manuscript the greatest chance of success, you need to develop it to the highest possible standard.

The manuscript development phase can be challenging and frustrating; it is likely to take longer than you thought, and it can be difficult to know when you are done. But if you are committed to becoming a writer, you can’t avoid it. What exactly is involved in this process, and how do you know when your manuscript is finally ready to send out into the world?
